7 Trending Low-Light Plants

 "Adding house plants to my home décor sounds great, but what do I do if I have windows in my home that are small or directed north? I want to add plants in my living room, dining room and bathroom, what can I do?

Luckily there are plants that grow without sunlight (requires bright indirect light) and you can grow them indoors.

Great Low Light Plants:

Dracaena is a beautiful houseplant, with over 50 species to choose from, that you can grow at home. 

Bromeliad is a perfect plant to grow indoors, most of the varieties of this plant thrive easily in a container in shade. Great tropical feel.

Some ferns do great in low light. Maidenhair Fern is seen in many of the home style magazines and is one you should consider. The dark and glossy leafstalk resembles human hair and it looks great.

Mother-in-law’s Tongue/Snake Plant is a low maintenance plant . It’s a very durable and its ability to tolerate darkness is amazing.Silver queen is a very beautiful plant. It’s one of the most durable houseplants that thrives in low light, it’s an ideal plant for beginners too.

Spider Plant beautiful in hanging baskets and pots, it can be kept on windowsills or near the entrance of home as it likes indirect sunlight. Also, the plant is an air purifying plant.

Prayer Plant grows well in moderate light without direct access to the sun. If the plant is kept in too much light the leaves begin to curl and wither.

As you can see there are great low light plants to choose from for your home.  Get creative, have fun, and take a chance on house plants.
